The president of Chess Club

Was rushed into moving his pawn

When he heard his mum planned

To search his bedroom at dawn

UPON THE CHESSBOARD

 

Upon the chessboard

The pieces move

And change their futures

Their course and direction

And I want that

I want to make a move

In a different direction

Toward a different future

I will set a new course

And face what presents itself

There is nothing I can’t do

The president of Chess Club

Was toying with his bishop

Then his mum walked in

And told him he had to stop

IT WAS DURING A CHESS GAME

 

It was during a Chess game

That I remember him saying

“Let’s make this more interesting”

So we agreed to stop playing
